It is important for all eligible voters to get out to the polls in November to vote. If you are not already registered to vote, please take the time right now to learn how you can register to vote.

I am a new voter needing to register for the first time.

To register to vote in the state of Ohio, you must be: a citizen of the United States, a resident of Ohio and you must be 18 years old on or before election day.

Note: The deadline for registering to vote in Ohio is April 3, 2006 for the Primary Election. The deadline for registering to vote in the General Election is October 10, 2006.

You may register to vote at any county board of elections, any public high school or vocational school, at any Bureau of Motor Vehicles, public libraries or county treasurer's office. You may contact your local Board of Elections to have a voter registration form mailed to you. Contact information for both Erie and Ottawa Board of Elections is listed below.

I am already registered, but need to update my records. (Name, Address, etc.)

If you are registered and move to another location within Ohio or the same county or if you change your name, you must report the change to the board of elections by completing a voter registration form at the locations stated above or by mail.

I'm not sure if I am registered or not. How do I find out?

If you are not sure that you are already registered to vote, you will need to contact your county's Board of Elections office. See the contact information below for Erie and Ottawa Board of Elections contact information.
